Ebony Life TV Launch Yellow Carpet: Who is the Fairest of them All?

Where two or three are gathered in high fashion, let the Pulse fashion jury be summoned! The recently held Ebony Life TV launch attracted nothing if not the  best and brightest of the Nigerian fashion, media and entertainment industry and as is expected for such high profile events, the celebrities turned out in their Sunday best. From Dare Art-Alade’s signature tux and bow-tie look to Genevieve Nnaji in Deola Sagoe, the yellow carpet was awash with labels, locks and the inevitable anti-climaxes.
So in true Pulse fashion jury style, here’s our take on the ladies and gentlemen of the Ebony Life TV yellow carpet…we’l’ be gentle.

Onna says: I’ve seen Toke look better
Joan says: There’s too much going on, its confusing
Joey says: Negative grandiose

Onna says: In Muna’s own words, ‘body of a goddess’..she was certainly flaunting that bod. Feisty!
Joan says: Sexy, Greek goddess!
Joey says: Aphrodite reborn..brings to mind celestial mythological Roman goddesses.
Onna says: Effortlessly classy. A neck piece would have been fab though but she still totally rocked it in its simplicity
Joan says: Love the colour and the dress, gorgeous..but without the jewelry she  looked like she was wrapped in sheets
Joey says: Lightens up the senses. For this less, was perfect. Although I can’t help but think that without a neckpiece she looked like she was styled at a funeral home.
Onna says: She had the 50s glamour look on lockdown with her make-up and jewellery but the dress and shoes left a lot to be desired
Joan says: She modernised the 1950s. Classic elegance
Joey says: Eku defined glamour
Onna says: C’mon Mo, this was YOUR big day, you should have picked another time to land on the worst dressed list
Joan says: She looks confused. Being a known fashionista Mo showing up in this was like a slap to the world of fashion
Joey says: “Hi Pixie!” Unless you’re in a Walt Disney movie with little rambunctious dwarf farmers then you shouldn’t be caught dead with this on you. Hope you live happily ever after…Snow Mo
Onna says: I quite like the dress but for such a high octane event you’ve gotta pull out the big guns and I’m not so sure this cuts it
Joan says: Too simple
Joey says: This was a situation where less was actually less, and what’s with the charity flowers?!
Onna says: Even for a movie scene, this look is unpardonable.
Joan says: Get a stylist and if you have one, fire her
Joey says: Get a stylist

Onna says: You know Toolz, asides long/three quarter-sleeved, tight-fitted, maxi dresses, there are other equally gorgeous dresses that would suit your figure…
Joan says: Toolz wear something else, its getting boring
Joey says: It hurts to see you in this, maybe your thing for maxi gowns has become anti-climatic. Change should be on the way…it must.

Onna says: Stunning. Never seen her look so effortlessly good
Joan says: LBD worked perfectly. She exuded confidence
Joey says: Just there…
Onna says: Stunning as always. Rita never disappoints
Joan says: Nice. But it feels like something was missing. I would have preferred if the skirt was longer
Joey says: This outfit pales in comparison with all the glitter around it. Not much to see, but enough to give stick.
Onna says: I didn’t care much for the dress but Genevieve brought her star power to it. She totally rocked the dress. Fab!
Joan says: Love the dress! Very risque but she pulled it off as always. She wore the dress and didn’t allow the dress wear her.
Joey says: Diva extraordinaire. She goes out of line and her boldness is rewarded with a look that words can’t express. This is way ahead of language.
Onna says: True movie star glam!
Joan says: I’ve never seen her look this good and confident in an outfit. Beverly + April by Kunbi = Perfect
Joey says: The pervert in me comes alive, all I see is a disguised swimsuit. Expressive, but inappropriate.
Onna says: The eagle has landed!
Joan says: If the kokomaster is wearing that shirt, I think that necklace was not necessary. All the same, he was dapper
Joey says: Didn’t fall short. Cool contrast..nice shoes..thumbs up!
Onna says: What can I say? Few men can rock a suit in the entertainment industry like Ebuka..the pants are a little too tight though..
Joan says: Looks good but the tight pants are making us see a lot more of him…if you get my drift…
Joey says: Those pants subtracted a huge dose of quality from you. I see the bulge, I have a dream…
Onna says: Dare in a tux…always a delight
Joan says: Please change your look. Don’t know if its the photo but he looked way bigger upwards. Not so cool
Joey says: Our favourite sticks with tradition on this one. If its not broken, then it needs no fixing, cool
Onna says: No sire, absolute not!
Joan says: OMG!!! What were you thinking? Colour blocking does’t work on suits, this is a total mess
Joey says: My smile turned into a yimu when those shoes screamed at me. You should have left it at home
Onna says: Another guy who can rock a suit. Go Alexx!
Joan says: Always sexy. Knows what he’s doing..perfect colour. Amazing
Joey says: Class and style come together in this outfit to produce the perfect gentleman. We love
Onna says: Eeerrr…..
Joan says: Praiz please we are not going for service. You look ridiculous. Please fire your stylist if you have one!
Joey says: This outfit is inspired by confusion. Return Darey’s bowtie, get sharper shoes and maybe fire the stylist. Whatever works. You need a miracle to remedy this!
