The Jenners are certainly assembling a fine stable of customized whips.

With her daughter getting a new Ferrari for her birthday, Kris Jenner has decided to treat herself to something a little different too.

However in a rare cost effective move by a Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, the 59-year-old star decided against buying a brand new car in favour of car makeover.

Kris, along with boyfriend Corey Gamble, was spotted at West Coast Customs in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday.

While the Kardashians have long been clients of Platinum Motorsports, the momager branched out perhaps taking some customization advice from daughter Kylie Jenner's boyfriend Tyga who is a client of the car shop.

While the rapper used the shop to turn his Lamborghini rose gold, Kris went for something more subtle changing her black SUV to a matte black SUV.

While that may seem pointless to many, the colour has become the go-to shade for Los Angeles' rich and famous.

Kris - who was dressed in all-black to match her car - drove to West Coast Customs so it was up to her 34-year-old boyfriend to drive her spare car home.

But fortunately for the toy boy, it certainly was not just any old car - it was a Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, which can cost upwards of $200,000.

Jumping in her updated vehicle but not yet driving off, Kris immediately pulled out her phone and appeared to be calling son Rob Kardashian.

While it was hard to make out, the reality star's phone did seem to bear her son's name.

Rob was noticeably absent from the weekend's celebrations as the whole family gathered together to mark Kylie's 18th birthday.

Rob has been seen just a handful of times since he left big sister Kim Kardashian's wedding early in May last year.

The 28-year-old has reportedly been struggling with emotional issues with claims he has also battled substance abuse.

Rob has in the past been given Kris' Range Rover to drive, so perhaps the matriarch was planning a surprise for him - and the makeover was so the car can be a gift to him.

Getting given a new car is definitely becoming a trend in the Jenner Kardashian household with the Kris' Bentley reportedly once a gift from Kim and Kanye West and, of course, Kylie got a $295,000 Ferrari from boyfriend Tyga on the weekend.
