Mariah Carey wants Las Vegas to know there's a new girl in town.

The pop icon arrived at Caesars Palace Monday night in a classic pink convertible behind 18 mobile billboards bearing the titles of her number one hits.

The grand entrance is to celebrate her Las Vegas Strip debut that will bring her chart-topping hits to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting May 6 with performances through July.

It has not been officially confirmed how much Mariah will be receiving for her residency, however the cash will certainly come in handy in her upcoming divorce battle with ex-husband Nick Cannon.

It is thought to be considerably more than the $30m that Britney Spears was paid for her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood.

Called Mariah #1 to Infinity, the show is timed with the debut of Carey's newest breakup single and music video dubbed Infinity.

The Grammy winner is among the best-selling female solo artists of all time and joins the ranks of Celine Dion, Elton John, Rod Stewart and Shania Twain, who have all taken up residency at The Colosseum. Pop star Britney Spears performs at Planet Hollywood.

Tickets for Carey's show are priced from $55 to $250.

The arrival comes just day after Mariah revealed a lyric video to her new track Infinity, which appears to take aim at her ex Nick.

While the track's title Infinity may sound uplifting and seemingly optimistic, the five-time Grammy winning singer clearly states: 'You lost the best you ever had/There's an end to infinity.'

Although Mariah never specifically mentions Nick's name in the song, the timing of her comeback to music runs parallel to the headline-making separation from the father of her three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

'Why you mad/Talkin' 'bout you're mad/Could it be that you just lost the best you've ever had,' she belts out.
