From headliner to spectator! Rapper Nelly takes a break from Australian tour as he heads to the tennis court to watch Brisbane International final match with girlfriend

He's in Australia on a headline tour, but on Sunday Nelly enjoyed some down time with his girlfriend for a night at the tennis.

Sitting in the crowd at the Pat Rafter Arena, the 40-year-old rapper watched the Brisbane International Men's Final with partner Shantel Jackson, 34 and his bodyguard.

Nelly, real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr looked every bit the tennis enthusiast as his eyes were fixated on the match between Roger Federer and Milos Raonic which the Swiss great won.

Nelly dressed down for the event, wearing a button-down but still casual white collared shirt.

Shantel, ex girlfriend of boxer Floyd Mayweather, also kept her outfit simple, wearing a black singlet under an open white vest.

She sported light sunglasses to the arena and her long curly brunette hair was styled in a high ponytail.

The concert, which also stars fellow rappers Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B has already made it's way through Sydney and Newcastle.

The show has been getting rave reviews and it is the first time the entertainer has come down under since 2011.

He was initially scheduled to perform a string of shows in the country last year but was forced to cancel and revise his tour due to unforeseen events.

The trio will next perform in New Zealand on Wednesday night before coming back to the country to play in Melbourne, before wrapping up the tour in Perth on Saturday night.
