Lana Del Rey puts on a brave face as she steps out in New York days after cancelling Euro promotional trip due to illness

Lana Del Rey put on a brave face as she stepped out in New York's Soho neighbourhood on Thursday, days after being forced to cancel all promotional duties due to an undisclosed illness.

The 29-year-old singer managed to raise a smile, despite having to pull out of a trip to Europe where she was scheduled to perform on Radio 1 on Tuesday.

Her label Polydor/Universal said in a statement on Monday: 'For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days,'

Lana also cancelled two private concerts for Virgin Radio listeners in Paris a few days ago.

But the Young And Beautiful singer appeared to put her troubles aside on Thursday.

Summer chic: The singer wore a white crop top, cream blouse and checked shorts

The star looked effortlessly chic and sported a white crop top with a pair of high-waisted black and white checked shorts.

Lana layered her look with a loose sheer cream blouse, which she rolled to below her elbows, and teamed them with a pair of light yellow Jelly flats.

The brunette beauty was also carrying a brown leather shoulder bag and accessorised with a hoop earrings, a few bangles, and a cross necklace.

Zoning out: Lana covered her eyes with aviators and appeared to be listening to music

Lana shielded her eyes with a pair of aviator shades and kept an ear bud plugged into her right ear, seeming to be listening to tunes during her trek.

She has recently been busy promoting her new album Ultraviolence that was released in June.

The album debuted at number one in 12 countries including the US and the UK.
