Footballers live by their own set of rules, and it seems that one of them is when facing an uncertain future, deal with the worry head on by going on a gambling binge.
Some of the star players from Manchester United were seen arriving at Chester Races just a few hours after their 71-year old boss, Alex Ferguson, issued his resignation.
According to club insiders, the famed manager, at the helm of the club for twenty-seven years, was meant to be on the coach arriving with the team at the racecourse, but was nowhere to be seen, perhaps to avoid an inevitable media scrum.

The steed was in the starting line-up for the 3:50 race, with many racing insiders intrigued to see if she matches her good form last month, when she was narrowly beaten in to second place.

Some of the Manchester United stars at Chester Races on Wednesday afternoon were Wayne Rooney, 27, Rio Ferdinand, 34 and Robin Van Persie, 29.
They looked a bit glum as they arrived at the the races, but all of them cut fine figures in their expensive suits.
Danny Welbeck looked dapper in a grey number which he paired with a purple tie, but Rooney stole the show in a royal blue number.
The chances are that the well tailored outfit was not from Littlewoods, where his wife Coleen has her own clothing line.

The lads seemed to perk up as  the races got underway, they whooped and cheered as they watched a horse gallop past.

Hiding his eyes behind large sunglasses, he looked like he was going to a Christening in his metallic mushroom coloured hair and simple black suit with white shirt.
His silver flecked hair reflected the sunlight, giving him an otherworldly appearance as he laughed and joked with his teammates.
