Dining like a WAG! Rihanna heads to the Manchester restaurant favoured by footballers and soap stars

By Hanna Flint

She's one of the biggest popstars in the world, but Rihanna got a taste of what it's like to be a WAG by heading to the San Carlo restaurant in Manchester on Tuesday night.
The Bajan singer was having a night off ahead of her concert in the city, and decided to dine at the favourite restaurant of many a footballer and soap star living in the area.
Looking far more demure than her usual risque look, Rihanna, 24, covered up in a grey T-shirt and red pencil skirt with a denim jacket draped over her shoulders.

She added some Gothic bling with a delicate, jewelled necklace and a matching belt, and wore her dark rooted, blonde hair up into a chic chignon.
Adding a red lip colour to match her skirt, she was a far cry from the hotpants-wearing rudegirl partying hard in Paris a few nights earlier.
But she may well have bumped into a few local celebrities while dining at the Italian restaurant, with stars there like Alex Gerrard, Sheree Murphy and former Manchester City player Mario Balotelli.

When the now A.C. Milan footballer ate at San Carlos in November, he was joined by TOWIE star Mario Falcone, proving that the food venue boasts an array of 'VIP' guests.
But none can really stand up to the star power brought by Rihanna, who is set to play two back to back gigs at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

Hopefully she'll continue to make it onstage on time, as she was criticised by fans in Belgium for making them wait two hours.

In Cardiff on Monday, however, the 60,000 strong crowd couldn't have been happier with her Diamonds show, a history-making concert as she is the youngest artist ever to sell-out the Millennium Stadium.
Only a few Twitter users commented on the singer's tardiness, but it seemed she didn't arrive onstage too late.
@telerijj wrote: 'phew, @rihanna was only 12 mins late to turn up on stage.'
The same night she made history at the Cardiff, she added her record-extending 36th entry to the Billboard charts, with her new single Right Now, feat. David Guetta.
